PREDIS, smart grid innovation and education center
Monday 17 June pm

Group 1: Departure at 13h50 from the conference place. Back at 16h at the conference place

Travel: Tramway TRAM B (green flag in front of the tram) 30 minutes, direct travel from the conference (Station “Palais de Justice”) to the laboratory (Station “Gabriel Faure”).

Two accompanying persons from the organizing committee will be with each group.

Predis is a center for innovation and education for smartgrids particularly for distributed energy. It provides a demonstration tool for smart energy management with a physical power grid complying with industry standards. It particularly allows different energy sources to be connected to different uses through a reconfigurable physical grid and a supervisory control system. Predis occupies 2500 square meters on the St. Martin d’Hères campus in the INP Grenoble engineering school on energy and information processing (INP Grenoble – ENSE3)

The National Solar Energy Institute (INES) is France’s center of reference in the field of solar energy. Based at Savoie Technolac on the shores of Lake Bourget, the institute was set up with the backing of Savoie Départemental Council and Rhône-Alpes Regional Council, and includes research and development teams from the CEA, CNRS, University of Savoie and CSTB.

Two accompanying persons from the organizing committee will be with the group.

MANDATORY: Do bring Passport (non-EU citizens) or ID Card (EU-citizens) otherwise you won’t be able to access the visit.

The group will be split into two, each part following in a different order :
1/ Talk about SmartGrid projects developed by RTE (the French Transmission System Operator)
2/ Visit of the Station

Refreshments will be provided on site. Reminder: this technical visit is free of charge, but is not available for accompanying persons. Only actual attendees with full registration fees are allowed (names on the list).

It is a 400/225 kV transformation station that allows interconnection between the region of Grenoble and the various power plants in the Romanche Valley. It is possible to visit the control room, protection, circuit breakers, busbars, transformers, sensors, communication, and other 400 and 225 kv equipment.

The group will be split into two, each part following in a different order :
1/ Institutional presentation of RTE (the French Transmission System Operator)
2/ Visit of the dispatching center

Refreshments will be provided on site. Reminder: this technical visit is free of charge, but is not available for accompanying persons. Only actual attendees with full registration fees are allowed (names on the list).

The regional dispatching center of RTE in Lyon is one of the 7 Regional dispatching centers in France. Its teams work in coordination with the national dispatching center (CNES).
